About DF1
DF1 is a consulting firm for data analytics, machine learning, and system and workflow design, based in Miami, Florida. It works on questions where the analysis has to be sound and the system that delivers it has to keep working once people depend on it.
A model is a claim about how something behaves. The question DF1 keeps returning to is whether that claim survives contact with messy data and with someone who has to act on it. That is why the work is built to be inspected rather than trusted: stated assumptions, validation against data the model has not seen, outputs traceable to their sources, and limits written down as properties of the method.

DF1 is led by its founder, whose background joins graduate economics with about two decades of operational leadership.

Live broadcast is an unusual place to learn systems design, and a clarifying one. Every workflow either holds under load or fails in front of an audience, which teaches attention to the failure mode before the feature.
